Clouds are a very poular choice for not only a child's room but for a family room, media room, etc. One of our first sky ceilings was in a sunroom, which was octagonal. The room was lined with windows and very bright. We painted a a sky that was light blue with billowing clouds. The end result was subtle and every time our client walked into the room, she said it brightened her mood!
Our clients told us that they spent the evening after we finished painting, lying on the floor and just looking up at the ceiling! They loved it.
This is a little girl's nursery. Her parents wanted us to paint her ceiling so it looked like it opened up into the sky.
We painted a clear blue sky with fluffy clouds and then used the existing light fixture to paint a blazing sun around it.
... So every day is a nice one!
