Color washing is one of the most versatile of faux finishes. It can be adapted to any room because of its subtle variations of color and soft, natural glow. This was a dining room that our client wanted to add some color to. The walls were originally white which took away from the architecture of this 1940 "arts & crafts" style cottage. She had recently had a whole cut into the wall to expose the newly renovated kitchen and to bring light into the room.
The trim was painted a bright white to accentuate the original molding. Our client wanted warm tones and an aged look. She was thrilled with how the rooms turned out! She loved it so much, that she had us do her adjoing living room in the same finish, but lighter tone.
